New website for Chevinside Kennels

A photo by Aaron Barnaby.

Chevinside Kennels in Yorkshire were in need of an updated website, the brief was for a modern, clean looking and responsive website design that kept the colour scheme of the original site. I’m not usually one for green websites but I was up for the challenge. Bold imagery and nice transitions make this site modern and attractive, and who doesn’t love a picture of a cute dog? Logo design

Latest logo design for Kate Bowl Interiors, Kate wanted a clean, minimal and striking logo which I think was achieved. If you need a logo designing then please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can have a chat about your requirements.

Christening Invitations

A recent design created for my little boy’s Christening invitation, these are to be printed on 400gsm textured stock so they will have a quality feel. The design tones are neutral and the happy little dinosaur matches perfectly, just like the little man who these are for!

Back to work

proteinandco_brandingI am back to work after having my second child and am available to take on projects once again. I gave myself a 6 month break to settle into life with two. There’s a new site coming soon and hopefully the launch of Protein&Co which has been delayed due to some business registration issues. But for now you can have a nice picture of the branding which has been completed.

Wanting a logo?

Logo design is not something that should be taken lightly, after all this is the first impression a customer will have of your business.

I regularly get requests to quote for a logo design, however before I am able to, I require more information, such as, will the logo include illustration, is it intricate or simple etc. Once I have obtained these details I can then provide a detailed quote. This usually includes 8 different styles, of which one is chosen and developed further until we have the perfect logo, helping you stand out from your competitors. Sadly some clients just don’t place importance on a logo design and want the cheapest deal they can get, if that is the case then I am not the designer for you. My quote will not, by any means, break the bank but it will charge appropriately for a beautiful, professional logo that will stand the test of time.

If you are looking for cheap logo design then there are many resources on Google at your disposal, however please bear in mind that anyone can have the same logo and it will not be bespoke to you.

EquineBar Logo Design

EquineBar is a salt based bar specifically designed for horses. The founder of EquineBar Kathy, contacted me and asked me to design a logo. She gave me full ‘rein’ on what she was looking for and asked me to come up with some logo concepts. Some time later the one above was chosen.

The logo lends itself to a variety of formats, ranging from the bright gold above or to a subtle gold for whichever medium it needs to be displayed upon.

Barratt & Hughes – Responsive design – case study

case-study-barratt Barratt & Hughes is a flooring company based in Salford, Manchester. They approached me as they needed to make their website responsive, since Google has begun “expanding use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal” across all mobile searches. In short, if your site is not responsive it will slip down the rankings. So it was critical to get the “mobile-friendly” status as soon as possible. As well as making the site degrade gracefully on a mobile and tablet, I also added a couple of design changes to the site overall in terms of font, imagery and content.

Responsive design is more important than ever today, so if you need assistance in making your site responsive then contact me today to discuss how I can help.

“DV Creative helped us completely overhaul our business with a new logo, stationary and website. Andrea came to our office and gave us the help and guidance we needed with amazing results. We wouldnt hesitate in recommending DV Creative to any of our contacts.”

AniJS – a simple developers tool for adding CSS3 animations to your website

This is for the web designers out there, it’s a little off topic but we have been using AniJS a lot on our projects recently. It’s a wonderfully easy way to add CSS3 animations to your website code. You can see a working example right here, just click on the image above. AniJS is also used on our homepage and on our latest website project Hover over a couple of the elements or buttons and you can see how seamless and smooth it is. The greatest thing of all… it works well on mobile, tablet, Android and modern browsers.

We are big fans needless to say and will continue to use this in our upcoming projects. To get a copy of AniJS visit their site on Github.
